How to Use Essential Oils
Maybe you’ve probably heard all about the benefits of essential oils but don’t know how to actually use them? It’s easy, but can feel intimidating at first.
It’s definitely worth making the switch from air fresheners to diffusing essential oils, which is a much more natural choice.
In this blog post, we will discuss how to use essential oils safely and effectively.

First up, you want to make sure that you are only using pure essential oils. The best essential oils will be properly labeled. But be aware many oils that claim to be pure can in fact be loaded with chemicals so is best to really do your homework before you use them.
There are many reputable brands that you can use. Personally, I tend to use Young Living, but you could also try Doterra, or you can buy essential oils in store from Holland and Barratt in the UK.

Different Ways to Use Essential Oils
There are so many things you can do with essential oils. You can use your favorite essential oils to make room sprays, homemade bath salts or scrubs, wear them in diffuser jewelry and you can even use them in a car diffuser.
So you can take these summer essential oil blend recipes, and adapt them to make a room spray, or a body scrub all in your favourite summer beachy scents, just like the summer breeze or a moment of sunshine.
Check out our lavender sugar scrub and cherry sugar scrub recipes.
But make sure that if you plan on using them on your skin, you use a carrier oil
Carrier oils are used to dilute the essential oils and carry them to your skin. You do not want to put the undiluted oils directly onto your skin as this will be too strong and irritate or even burn your skin.
You can also use essential oils for meditation. Check out our list of the best oils or incense to use for meditation.
What can you use as a carrier oil?
Here are a few of the best options below (Amazon affiliate links for your convenience, but you can buy these in many stores)

Remember that animals and pets can be sensitive to essential oils as well, so be sure to take any necessary precautions.
