DIRECTIONS: How To Make Your Own Natural Body Scrub With Coconut And Lime
Today I am going to give you a recipe for a homemade scrub that you can use as a natural alternative to expensive scrubs and body washes.
It’s really satisfying to use a product that you’ve made yourself, and you know exactly what the package contains, without any chemicals, additives or unnatural preservatives

First, add your cup of white sugar to a medium mixing bowl.
Then, in a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil in the microwave at 10 second intervals until it is melted.

If the coconut oil got too warm, allow it to cool. Then, pour the melted coconut oil into the sugar.
Using a microplane, zest the entire lime into the bowl.

Cut the lime in half and squeeze half the lime to the sugar mixture.
Add the vanilla paste to your mixture.

Once all four ingredients have been added, as above, whisk your mixture together until everything is well combined.

Store your scrub mixture into a container with a tight-fitting lid such as a mason jar.
To use: Scoop out a small amount into clean hands.
Scrub onto your body to exfoliate and rinse thoroughly.

If you are using this scrub in the shower, the oil can be slippery if too much is used so take care. Start out with a small amount and take more as needed. Clean the tub after using to avoid slips and falls.
How Long Can You Store This DIY Body Scrub?
Due to their acidic nature, limes are natural preservatives so this can be stored for a few weeks – and even longer in the refrigerator.
Can I use Sugar Scrub on my Face?
If using on your face, be sure to gently rub in a circular motion.
Do not rub hard. Also, do not leave it on too long and rinse immediately.
