From possessed little girls to creepy twins, these kids left a mark on the genre that adults couldn’t ignore. Here’s a look at where those unforgettable young stars ended up after the cameras stopped rolling.

Today, Moretz has grown into a versatile actress. She starred in “Shadow in the Cloud” (2020) and appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series “The Peripheral.” A thriller called “White Night” is also on her horizon.

Picture a nine-year-old girl surviving alien horrors alongside Sigourney Weaver and you have Carrie Henn as Newt in “Aliens” (1986). Her performance was raw, emotional, and absolutely unforgettable for sci-fi horror fans everywhere.

After the film wrapped, Henn quietly walked away from Hollywood and chose a completely different kind of heroism. She became a schoolteacher and has stayed out of the spotlight ever since, preferring real classrooms over movie sets.

Few images in horror history are as instantly recognizable as the Grady twins standing silently in the hallway of the Overlook Hotel. Lisa and Louise Burns were just 10 years old when Stanley Kubrick cast them in “The Shining” (1980).

After that single unforgettable appearance, both sisters stepped away from acting entirely. Now in their late 50s, they live quiet, private lives far removed from Hollywood glamour and haunted hotel corridors.

6. Haley Joel Osment

“I see dead people.” Four words spoken by a wide-eyed child named Cole Sear made Haley Joel Osment one of the most talked-about young actors of 1999. His performance in “The Sixth Sense” earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.

Osment never really left the spotlight. He has appeared in “Silicon Valley,” “The Boys,” and “What We Do in the Shadows.” He also lends his voice to animated series like “American Dad!” and “Dragons: The Nine Realms.”

7. Alex Vincent

Vincent stepped away from acting in 1993 but made a comeback in 2008. He reprised his role as Andy in “Curse of Chucky” (2013), “Cult of Chucky” (2017), and the Chucky TV series that launched in 2021.

Chase has remained active in entertainment since then, landing a recurring role on HBO’s “Big Love” starting in 2006. Beyond acting, she has also explored a passion for music and pursued a singing career on the side.

Scott followed up with a role in the sequel “It Chapter Two” and also starred in the supernatural horror film “The Prodigy” (2019). Still very young, he already has a strong horror resume building behind him.

Now 75, he remains largely out of the public eye.

The image of a small boy standing on a hill, staring blankly at his adoptive father, is one of horror’s most chilling closing shots. Harvey Spencer Stephens played Damien in “The Omen” (1976) with an eerie stillness that made viewers genuinely uneasy.

Stephens never pursued a serious acting career after that. He made a brief cameo in the 2006 “Omen” remake and then stepped back.

Now 54, he works in finance and property development and keeps a low profile in England.

14. Heather O’Rourke

“They’re here.” Spoken softly by little Carol Anne Freeling, those two words became one of horror’s most quoted lines. Heather O’Rourke was just six years old in “Poltergeist” (1982), and her innocent presence made the terror feel even more real.

After the film, she appeared regularly on “Happy Days” and starred in two Poltergeist sequels. Tragically, Heather passed away in 1988 at only 12 years old due to cardiac arrest caused by septic shock, leaving behind a legacy far too brief.

Playing Aidan Keller in “The Ring” (2002) and its 2005 sequel, David Dorfman delivered lines in a flat, emotionless tone that made him genuinely unsettling to watch. His blank stare was almost as creepy as the cursed videotape itself.

Off screen, Dorfman was a certified genius. He was admitted to UCLA at 13 and graduated as valedictorian, then earned his law degree from Harvard at just 18.

He also appeared in “Drillbit Taylor” (2008) before largely stepping away from acting.

Nobody played Wednesday Addams quite like Christina Ricci did at age 11 in “The Addams Family” (1991). Her deadpan delivery and dark humor made Wednesday iconic, and Ricci became the queen of quirky, gothic roles almost overnight.

She went on to star in “Sleepy Hollow” and “Monster,” earning a Golden Globe nomination for “The Opposite of Sex.” Ricci also received Emmy recognition for “Grey’s Anatomy” and starred in Lifetime’s “Lizzie Borden Took an Ax” in 2013.

After years away from the spotlight, Culkin returned strong with a praised role in “American Horror Story: Double Feature” (2021) and appeared in “The Righteous Gemstones” (2022). In 2023, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has voice roles lined up for “Zootopia 2.”
