1. Jane Fonda
Few celebrities have sparked as much lasting debate as Jane Fonda. Her 1972 trip to North Vietnam earned her the nickname “Hanoi Jane,” and the backlash was fierce.
She later called being photographed on an enemy anti-aircraft gun a “huge lapse of judgment.”
Still, she never apologized for her broader anti-war activism. Decades later, Fonda launched “Fire Drill Fridays,” getting arrested repeatedly at the U.S.

2. Patricia Heaton
